The following information is a guide only and is subject
to change. Kindly note that is your responsibility to
ensure you have all the correct documents including visa,
health and passport requirements. Please check with your
local authorities before you depart. For information & details
of passenger responsibilities please refer to the passenger
cruise contract.
ACCOMMODATION - 60 cabins and staterooms each with private
bathroom ensuite, adjustable air-conditioning, electric
blankets, soaps, shampoo and towels, serviced daily.
Each cabin is approximately 12 sq metres
AIR CONDITIONING - All cabins and inside public areas
are fully air-conditioned. An adjustable air conditioning
outlet is located in the bathroom section of your cabin
or above your main door.
BAGGAGE - Baggage is limited to what you can stow in
your cabins, so you would be advised not to over pack.
All bags must be clearly labelled with your name and
cabin number. Bags have to be handled by crew and we
would appreciate a weight limit of 20kg
BARS – Normal closing time for bar services is
12 midnight. Our licensing laws do not permit alcohol
to be brought onboard by passengers.
BIRTHDAYS & SPECIAL OCCASIONS - You may want to
order a cake, champagne or make some other celebratory
arrangement for that special occasion. Please give two
weeks notice before sailing.
BOARDING - The vessel departs from Mary Ann Reserve,
Mannum every Friday and Monday at 4.30pm – boarding
is from 2.30pm. Please present your ticket and photo
identification along with your luggage at the wharf from
2.30pm on the day of travel. These times apply for all
cruises unless otherwise stated.
Breakfast: 7.30am or 8am - 9am
Lunch 12.30pm
Dinner 7.00pm.
CAR PARKING - Car parking is available at Mannum subject
to availability – pre-bookings are essential. A
separate Car Parking Travel Voucher will be included
in your Captain Cook Cruises ticket information if arrangements
have been made on your behalf. Please check your documents
carefully. After your luggage has been stowed on the
ship, staff members will direct you to parking facilities.
Please note every care will be taken but parking is at
the passenger’s risk.
CASH FREE - For your convenience we operate a cashless
bar system. A credit card imprint will be taken on boarding
as a security. You may use your Cruise Account for onboard
drinks, souvenir purchases and some optional shore excursions.
Your Cruise Account must be settled prior to disembarkation.
$AUD Travellers cheques, cash or credit card (American
Express, Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard & Diners) will
be accepted for payment of your account, however we advise
personal cheques cannot be accepted.
COFFEE & TEA - Complimentary coffee & tea are
available, 24 hours in the Paddlewheel Lounge.
DINING - Dining aboard Murray Princess includes delicious
table d'hote menus, Captain's Dinner and buffet dining,
with a special campfire barbecue (seven and four night
cruises only). Breakfasts are buffet style. There is
one sitting for all meals.
DISEMBARKATION - Please leave your labelled luggage outside
your cabin door prior to breakfast on the final day and
your cabin key in the outside of the door. Luggage will
be taken ashore by ships crew All cabin accounts must
be settled the evening prior to disembarkation.
DRESS – During the day, sportswear and casual
clothes are suggested. We kindly ask that you do not
wear bathing suits, singlets or brief attire in public
rooms and lounges, especially in the Dining Room. Footwear
is requested in both the Dining Room and Lounges. During
the evening smart casual wear is recommended – an
open neck shirt and slacks for gentlemen and a dress,
skirt and blouse or pants outfit for the ladies. At the
Captains Dinner on the final night of the cruise, a jacket
and tie would not be out of place for gentlemen and a
cocktail dress or pants outfit for the ladies. Be sure
to bring a sun visor or hat, sunglasses (Polaroid) and
good sun blocks. Sandals, low-heeled deck shoes and tennis
shoes are most suitable on deck and for shore excursions.
DRINKING WATER – The water from your cabin tap
is not suitable for drinking. Spring water is supplied
in your cabin - please feel free to refill the container
from the spring water available in the Aft Lounge
ELECTRICS - The ships electricity is AC 240 volts 50
cycle (standard electrical power used in Australia).
You are welcome to bring your own shavers and hairdryers.
ENGINE ROOM TOURS - We regret due to insurance constraints,
we are unable to conduct engine room tours.
EXCURSIONS – During the cruise a number of shore
excursions are available (charges may apply to some optional
tours). You may also be requested to book your preferred
times for excursions. As a courtesy to your fellow passengers,
please be prompt to your marshalling station (details
will be provided in your daily onboard itinerary) with
any items you may need including sunglasses, sunscreen,
hat or walking shoes.
EXERCISE EQUIPMENT - is located on the sun deck - passengers
under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the equipment
without a supervising adult. Use of equipment is at own
risk.
FACILITIES - Two spas, two saunas, sun deck, two bars,
two lounges, single-sitting dining saloon, speed boat,
gift shop, library and video, lift, guest laundry and
24-hour tea and coffee facilities.
FANCY DRESS – On the 7 & 4-night cruise there
is an optional fancy dress evening. Costumes may be hired
onboard for a small fee.
GIFT SHOP - The Gift Shop is located on Chaffey Deck
and contains a selection of souvenirs, toiletries, film
and hats.
LAUNDRY - A washing machine, tub and ironing board are
available for passenger use in the ship’s laundry
on Chaffey Deck. Washing powder can be purchased at the
Souvenir shop. Laundry times are 7am to 3pm.
LIBRARY - a selection of books is available for your
reading pleasure in the upper level of the Paddlewheel
lounge, kindly return or swap the books so that others
can also enjoy them.
LIFT - The ship’s lift operates between Sturt,
Cadell and Randell Decks and is located at the aft end
of the ship. The following public rooms are situated
on decks without lift access: Chaffey Deck - Sauna, Spa,
Laundry and Souvenir Shop (accessible by stairwells only);
Sun Deck - (accessible by a steep shallow set of stairs
only)
MEDICAL- The ships crew does not include a doctor, however
the Ship’s Officers are trained in First Aid. There
is no pharmacy onboard. Please ensure you bring adequate
prescription medicines you may require.
MEDICAL - FITNESS TO TRAVEL - The passenger warrants
that they are physically fit and capable of undertaking
the cruise. A certificate of fitness of travel by your
doctor is required for passengers over 75 years of age
and/or passengers with limited mobility. For full details
please refer to the Passenger Cruise Contract.
ONBOARD CHARGES - These charges are not included in
your cruise fare and are payable at the conclusion of
your cruise (we regret they cannot be prepaid). All amounts
are charged to your onboard cabin account, payable at
the end of your cruise by credit card, cash or traveller’s
cheque (AUD). Please note surcharges are subject to change.

PASSENGER CRUISE CONTRACT - Tickets are issued subject
to the terms and conditions of the Passengers Cruise
Contract.
SMOKING - Please be advised that the Sun Deck, all cabins
and public rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted
on the outside decks only. As a courtesy to your fellow
passengers please refrain from smoking pipes and cigars.
Cigarettes are not sold onboard.
SPA & SAUNA - The spa and saunas are open for bookings
between 9.00am and 9.00pm. Passengers under 16 years
of age are not permitted without a supervising adult.
Use of equipment is at own risk.
SPECIAL DIETS - Passengers requiring special meals should
advise the Company in writing at least two weeks prior
to sailing and discuss with Cruise Director on boarding.
SWIMMING - If you wish to swim in the river please seek
advise from one of our deck staff as to the easiest and
safest method of doing so.
TIPPING - Tipping is always a personal matter and depends
on whether you have enjoyed the service you receive.
As a general rule, tipping is not necessary.
TOWELS – Help us save water & the environment.
If you would like your towel washed and replaced, please
leave it on the bathroom floor for collection – if
not, hang your towels on the bathroom towel rack to allow
them to dry for re-use.
TRANSFERS FROM ADELAIDE - Coach transfers are available
between Rockford Hotel (164 Hindley St, Adelaide) and
Mannum (approx 90 minutes). Pre-bookings are essential
and additional charges may apply. A separate Coach Transfer
Travel Voucher will be included in your Captain Cook
Cruises ticket information if arrangements have been
made on your behalf. Please check your documents carefully.
TURNDOWN - Each evening while you are dining, a stewardess
will conduct evening bed turndown and leave a copy of
the following day's itinerary.
URGENT TELEPHONE MESSAGES -The ship has an efficient
emergency VHF radio link with shore management at the
Mannum office, telephone (08) 8569 2511. Urgent messages
can also be sent from the ship. Mobile phone coverage
is limited.
VALUABLES - For our convenience valuables may be lodged
with the Captain for safe keeping in the Captain’s
safe. The company accepts no liability.
WEATHER – Rain or shine, waters on the Murray
always make for smooth sailing. As a guide, expected
seasonal temperatures range from 16-35 degrees Celsius
during summer and 6-17 degrees Celsius during winter.
